Hi, This is a regular mailing intended to improve communication within the Search and Rescue community in Alberta. It's going out to over 130 e-mail addresses that are listed as the primary contact of SAR Alberta member groups or which were requested to be added to the mailing list. Here are some of the happenings in SAR in Alberta: SAR Day in MayHaving a designated day for Search and Rescue is an honour. A day where the Provincial Government recognizes the value and the need for trained SAR Volunteers. A day for them to say thanks we know your out there. An opportunity for SAR teams to bring awareness to the communities and promote their services. May 6, 2000 is Search and Rescue Day. Our day. Don't let it pass you by. Brazeau Regional SAR Mock SearchIn recognition of the Provincial SAR Day, May 6 a mock search will be hosted in the Drayton Valley area by Brazeau Regional SAR. Man-Tracking in Ft.McMurrayFt. McMurray SAR is holding a mantracking course. They are looking for unique ideas on how they were given out and to whom. There is still bundles of the trip plans left available through Paul Olmstead. He is interested in any special equipment and how it gets to the potential survivor. Has any groups held first aid specific fundraising for their groups? Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.
