The National Search Secretariat has
announced the 2003 location and dates for their annual national SAR
conference. It will be hosted Oct 14 to
18, at

The New SAR Initiatives Fund (NIF), was
established by the federal government in 1988, and is managed by the National
Search and Rescue Secretariat (NSS).
NIF provides annual funding for new projects
(or initiatives), that will improve the National Search and Rescue Program. NIF
projects are funded in six categories: further integration of the NSP;
development of SAR data and information; prevention; research and development;
volunteers; and response. All of the proposals for these projects are carefully
reviewed and ranked in order of merit. The annual funding for these projects is
then distributed in that order. To view

SARSCENE is an annual national workshop
organized by the National Search and Rescue Secretariat (NSS) with the help of
provincial or territorial hosts. The Workshop travels to different regions of
(NSGSARA) are working
together with the Nova Scotia Emergency Measures Organization to help bring you
SARSCENE 2002. Being held on September 11-14, the location this year is back at

South Eastern Alberta Search and Rescue (SEASAR) Team, SAR Alberta and The
Eagles Nest Ranch have joined forces to host the 2003 SAR Alberta Conference
with a TWIST! With the proximity to the
