NIF projects are funded in six categories: further integration of the NSP; development of SAR data and information; prevention; research and development; volunteers; and response. All of the proposals for these projects are carefully reviewed and ranked in order of merit. The annual funding for these projects is then distributed in that order.  To view this year's list or for more information about NIF, checkout: `http://www.nss.gc.ca/NIF/index_e.html'
